Moral Vacuum

As I was pedaling this morning it occurred that contemporary life, at least in the Yankee republic, is a moral wasteland.

Consider politics. Our choices for any but the most local of offices are partisan and those choices are between a Nazi and a Communist, neither having much social redemption.

Consider business. Our choices (maybe) are between a “family business”, which is a synonym for waste and incompetence, and a “chain business”, which is a synonym for waste and serfdom. Neither of these are either moral not intelligent.

So what does this say of our society? Probably that we, the species, are abject failures and deserve extinction.

But the podcast was passable.
