Proper Disrespect for False Authority

The Pew People [Link] on preferences for “news with a view”, whether members of the sample population desire opinion inserted in the (traditional) media’s news reading. The results are fairly instructive. For all of the bins of the sample, some fraction on the order of ~0.2-0.3 want such opinion; the remainder do not.

While this is a mixed bag, when viewed in the framework of the expressing of opinion by the traditional media at all levels from local radio and television news readers to those of the national networks it is resounding since their expression of opinion is so close to 1.0 as to be lost in the accuracy of the poll. The resounding message is that the majority 0.8-0.7 of the sample, and by inference, the population at large in the Yankee republic, does not want this opinion covertly and overtly inserted into their news.

Since the traditional news media does not work for the citizenry, despite misinformation to the contrary, but for their advertisers, this bias and prevarication seems unlikely to cease. Given this, we may expect the traditional news media to remain as inaccurate as it is now and continue to decline as more and more humans using their intelligence find other sources of news that do not alter or distort it so disingenuously.

Notably, the highest fractions desiring such propaganda are (modern) democrats and individuals with no more than a high shul education. This would seem to support our thesis about those with intelligence seeking better sources.
